covering cold war

After ww 2 Russia(a former alli of the U.S.) wanted to spread its influence of communism across the globe. The united states didnt like it so we decided to try and stop russia from spreading there influence across the world and so the U.S. and Russia became enemies. the U.S. created created plans/laws to help other countries in europe so that they would not be convinced into communism and some countries went into communism for the fact that they needed something or could have used another larger country to stablize there own country. some countries could have needed food or money and that was what Russia would bribe the countries to join them. and so the cold war was started.


People in the U.S were worring about wether or not communism would take control over the united states as it did to the other countries in europe. Along with the fact of communism spreading a man named McCarthy was also helping scare the people of the U.S. by telling them some bad facts about the government and communism which probley wasnt even meant to be said at all. Thus he started McCarthyism. later on in the cold war china fell to communism and there new leader was Mao Zedong. The United States tried to help the other part of nationalists but failed trying. soon after north korea went into communism while the south didnt and the U.S. helped south Korea but later north korea declared war on south korea by invading. also in the cold war russia and the united states had to decide who got germany because they were both responsible for beating germany during ww 2. russia ended up splitting germany in half with the berlin wall because the wall was built between the capital city of germany which was Berlin. the united states also aided them by doing the berlin airlift and aiding people in Berlin.
